SOCKET TONGUE

As an important link fitting in power grid construction, Socket Clevis Tongue is mainly used to connect suspension clamps with insulators. A socket tongue, also known as a socket clevis, is a type of pole line hardware used to connect tension clamps and socket type insulators on power lines, overhead lines, and transmission lines.

Here are some characteristics of socket tongues:

Material

Socket tongues are typically made from cast iron, which is known for its strength and durability. Cast iron is also resistant to water and other corrosive chemicals.

Manufacturing process

Socket tongues are made by heating iron until it's liquid, pouring it into a mold, annealing it, and then hot dip galvanizing it.

Rust resistance

Socket tongues are rust resistant, even in tropical conditions with high humidity and temperatures.

Versatility

Socket tongues can be used with any type of overhead conductor, including Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) and All Aluminium Alloy Conductor (AAAC).

Custom sizes

Socket tongues can be made in custom sizes to fit specific cables
