CABLE GLANDS

Cable glands are used on all types of electrical power, control, instrumentation, data and telecommunications cables. They are used as a sealing and termination device to ensure that the characteristics of the enclosure which the cable enters can be maintained adequately.

Broadly, cable glands are classified into two:

1. Single compression

2. Double compression

Compression is nothing but the rubber seals that come with the gland. Double compression means two rubbers and single means one rubber.

The application of cable glands is as per following for basic understanding:

1. Single compression glands are used for Un-Armoured cables

2. Double compression glands are used for Armoured cables

Armoured cables are the ones which have a round/braided metallic armour around the cable.

Multiway projects Glands are manufactured with high quality materials made of copper alloy for high strength and nickel –plated for corrosion resistance. They are designed for fast assembly and expected performance.
